
Americas Tailings Inc. (ATI) is a Denver-based Earth-Friendly resource company focused on securing rights to historical tailings sites and, by applying modern, environmentally-friendly and commercially-viable processing technologies, reprocessing or repurposing the tailings material.
ATI has assembled a highly experienced team specialized in mining and environmental management, and having broad knowledge of the technical, commercial and legal aspects required to reprocess, repurpose and remediate historical tailings sites.
ATI has secured rights to about 2 million tonnes of tailings material located in the historical Magdalena mining district in Socorro County, New Mexico (Magdalena Project). The company has partnered with Advanced Materials Processing Inc. (AMPI), a California-based processing company, to conduct feasibility work to confirm the viability to produce natural, bio-mineral, nutrient-rich fertilizer products from the tailings material. ATI will complete a PEA-level study on the Magdalena Project in 2Q 2021.
ATI has been selected by BHP-Expande as one of the participants to advance under an initiative referred to as the “BHP Tailings Challenge to promote innovative solutions for repurposing copper tailings. ATI will perform scoping work during 1H 2021, including conducting plant and laboratory test work, and economic evaluation. ATI is participating in the initiative as a consortium with AMPI.
